Absolute mountain bliss
Leura – Varenna Luxury Accommodation
The senses come alive in the NSW Blue Mountains , especially in the cooler months, and there's nowhere better to indulge them than at historic Varenna in Leura.
Generations of leading NSW citizens have lived and been entertained in this gracious 1906 Edwardian home which designer Lorraine Allanson has returned to all its glory, creating an intimate luxurious guest house with all the modern creature comforts. Every element of Varenna has been carefully considered, from the polished floor timbers to the elegant drapes and the original old wood stove in the beautifully appointed kitchen.
There are three guest rooms, each with their own theme and ambience, while remaining faithful to the period in which this home was created. There's the dramatic “Scarlett” in which the walls are a decadent deep red and you'll settle back in your four-poster bed into soft ivory laced sheets and a fluffy plush duvet.
The gracious “Bluebell” also has a four-poster bed, with its gold trimmings and period furniture giving this bold design a regal feel. “Mon Rouge” is designed for the romantic in you. A queen-size brass bed is finished in luscious pinks encompassed by all that is French.
All the fine touches are there when considering a break from your busy schedule to the Blue Mountains, including a welcoming bottle of wine, fine port and chocolates, whilst snuggling up in front of a roaring gas log-fire in the lounge in your complimentary slippers and robe. Naturally, TV with Austar and DVD equipment are provided.
A gourmet continental breakfast is supplied and you're just 200 metres from the Leura Mall, with its fine restaurants, shops and galleries.
