Not surprisingly, given the proximity of Lismore and Ballina, Alstonville is orientated around tourism, boasting a number of fine gift and antique shops. Of particular note is Alstonville's award-winning gift shop, Christmas All Year Round, which is located on the road to Lismore. 8 km south of Alstonville is the attractive Victoria Park Nature Reserve which features an eight-hectare remnant of rainforest.
