Branxton is a small Hunter Valley township situated on the New England Highway 18 km north-west of Maitland. It has several older buildings such as the Branxton Inn (1862), St John's Anglican Church (1871-79), the Branxton courthouse and police station (1880), Branxton Methodist Church (1865) and the Victoria Building (c.1860). To the south are the Lower Hunter Vineyards. The Royal Federal Hotel serves good counter lunches. Branxton offers fine bed-and-breakfast, guesthouse accommodation.
