Wangi Wangi is a holiday resort town situated on a long, narrow peninsula which juts out from the western shore of Lake Macquarie. Consequently, the major drawcards for visitors are fishing, swimming, boating, picnics, cruises, charter services, the general scenic value of the area and Dobell House which was the home of noted Australian painter William Dobell. There are fine views and walking trails at Wangi Wangi Point Flora and Fauna Reserve, at the tip of the Wangi Wangi Peninsula. Other scenic areas are Myuna Bay and Wangi Wangi Bay.
