Information about Martinsville:
Martinsville is a tiny settlement at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. Located in the bush to the west of Cooranbong (along Martinsville Rd), Martinsville began with the arrival of the Martin family in the 1860s. A timbergetting village later developed. Martinsville Hill Road heads up into the Watagans which were extensively logged, providing the frames for many Central Coast houses and the coachwood for the diggers' .303 rifles. There are some outstanding camping sites, lookouts, walking trails, picnic areas and well-signposted forest drives. Beautiful rural accommodation is available at Martinsville.
