Situated on the southern slopes of the Snowy Mountains, Tumbarumba has an old-style charm and a number of beautifully preserved buildings such as the Tumbarumba Courthouse and Police Residence (1880s). There are excellent views over Tumbarumba from the historic Union Hotel. Excellent walking opportunities are afforded by the Hume and Hovell Track. Also in the area are Paddy's River Falls and the Glenroy Pioneers Womens Hut which has a fine collection of historical material. Excellent rural accommodation is available at Tumbarumba.
