Information about Yankalilla: Yankalilla is a small, attractive town which nestles into the surrounding hills on the Fleurieu Peninsula. A major centre, Yankalilla is located on the main road from Adelaide to Cape Jervis. Australia's first saint, Mary McKillop, opened a school here in 1867. Christ Church of Yankalilla was completed in 1857. The Christening Font originally came from Salisbury Cathedral in England and is over 250 years old. On the outskirts of Yankalilla there is a strange and charming collection of garden gnomes at the unique Gnomeland. Visitors to Yankalilla can also partake of some excellent cottage accommodation.
