Middleton is located 40 km south of Hobart. Located in the middle of an agricultural area where apples, pears, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, black and red currants, gooseberries and blackberries are grown, Middleton is an ideal place to find quiet accommodation and enjoy the views over the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Most Australians remember Middleton as a place which was devastated in the February 1967 bushfires. Among the buildings destroyed was the old Middleton Hotel. Today it is a peaceful and attractive town on the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
