Information about Foster: Foster is located on the South Gippsland Highway, about 20 km north of the beautiful Gippsland coastline which includes Shallow Inlet, Corner Inlet, Waratah Bay, Yanakie and Wilsons Promontory. The old Foster post office is now an historic museum. Foster North Lookout provides excellent views over Corner Inlet and Wilsons Promontory. The roads from Foster to Fish Creek and Yanakie are also scenic. Boating and fishing are popular at Corner Inlet, windsurfing at Shallow Inlet and surfing at Cape Liptrap. Fine rural accommodation is available at Foster.
