Escape to eco friendly pure luxury
WARRNAMBOOL MANTRA DEEP BLUE
This is a very special new resort for Australia. The Mantra Deep Blue on the legendary Great Ocean Road in Victoria combines high end luxury with pioneering energy conservation.
The resort at Warrnambool is a perfect spot to top off a tour of the Shipwreck Coast and Great Ocean Road or to use as a base to explore all the natural attractions of the region. It's also a celebration of the best in regional Victorian cuisine and fine wines from Victoria and around Australia.
Be sure to give yourself enough time to appreciate the unique Deepwater Bath House and Spa. The beachfront resort sits on a peninsula between Lady Bay and Stingray Bay and above a natural aquifer from which is drawn hot geothermal mineral waters.
These natural hot waters are used in the traditional Bath House & Spa and are piped through to guest rooms. The waters also help keep the boutique resort warm during the cooler months. In this environmentally conscious era, Mantra Deep Blue is able to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by around 570 tonnes a year.
The sustainability features can also be found in the landscaping around the resort, as well as its architecture. No compromise, however, has been made in terms of guest amenities and comfort at the resort, which is designed in the style of a 19th century English seaside Chateau.
The Deepwater Bath House and Spa comprises a large indoor heated pool, five treatment rooms, two hydrotherapy spas, a spa therapy pool and four individual private hot pool rooms for couples. A select range of massage and beauty treatments is available.
Guests can choose from luxurious rooms or one bedroom suites, immaculately designed and furnished to make the absolute most of the beautiful bay views. This is Australia's most historic stretch of coast and is the perfect spot to make sense of the drama of the Shipwreck Coast.
The exterior building is the colour of wet sand to allow the property to blend into its landscape, while the tower with its red roof symbolises a lighthouse, paying homage to the rich maritime history of Warrnambool's Shipwreck Coastline.
The Water Table Restaurant offers a modern Australian a la carte menu specialising in fresh local produce and seafood. The wine list showcases exceptional mid-priced regional wines from Victoria, Australia & New Zealand.
Extensive conference and event facilities (opening mid 2008) will cater for the most discerning clients allowing for up to 300 guests. Weddings will be catered for with the most personal of details attended to by a dedicated events coordinator.
It might be difficult to tear yourself away from Manta Deep Blue, but you'll be spoiled for choice when you do. There's whale watching between June and September when the annual migration from Antarctica is underway and southern right whales and their calves can often be spotted from the whale watching platform near Logan's Beach.
Tower Hill State Game Reserve is a haven within a dormant volcano for native wildlife such as koalas, emus, kangaroos and some spectacular birdlife.
Visit for a romantic interlude or bring a bunch of good friends to discover what a difference a day or two away can make.
