Its high rating is understandable. Ten minutes drive from the Taupo township, The Point Villas feature two villas designed to blend in with the surrounding natural beauty. Interiors feature state of the art furniture and original New Zealand artwork.

Each villa accommodates two couples or a family of four, with both master bedrooms opening on to double glazed bathrooms that afford the sensation of bathing outdoors. Privacy is ensured by offering guests exclusive use of the facilities whether one or both villas are booked.

Located in 24 hectares of native bush, walking is one of many activities on offer. There are two floodlit tennis courts plus croquet, petanque & kayaking.

Local fishing guide Brent Pirie from FlyFish Taupo (www.flyfishtaupo.co.nz) is available to organise trout or heli-fishing, rafting tours and even 'how to fish' clinics.

You can either cook your catch in the state of the art kitchen located within your Villa or use the services of award winning chef Prue Campbell. The Point Villas has a special relationship with Prue and her company (www.Yumfoodcompany.co.nz). Using only the freshest of ingredients, Yum offers everything from gourmet food-to-go such as duck confit & dauphinois potatoes or dinner party treats ie vanilla brulee or panna cotta. Prue will also quote chef catering services for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

TARIFF: NZ$1,100 for up to 4 people per villa and NZ$2,200 for up to 8 people for both villas. Minimum 2 nights stay. Special discount rates apply for stays of 5 nights or more.
