Backdrops Fantastic AUSTRALIA

Whether you want to be stranded on a lush tropical island, living it up in Las Vegas or dining in Dracula’s Castle – Backdrops Fantastic Australia can take you there according to the company’s Valerie Ling. Backdrops Fantastic rent one-of-a-kind hand-painted theme backdrops for corporate events, gala awards and event productions.

“Our backdrops are really the first layer in creating the perfect themed event,” Ms Ling said.

“You can install a backdrop before positioning tables, placing centrepieces or dimming the lights and immediately you can set the scene for the entire event.

“Created specifically with the event professional in mind, we design backdrops that are easy to use and adjustable in height. Many clients are working in function spaces with only a three metre ceiling height, so we created adjustable backdrops utilising removable sections.”

Each backdrop consists of a series of sectional panels with invisible seams that are zipped together so that no matter the height option needed, the image on the front of the drop is never compromised.

“Quality, consistency and innovative designs are our main objectives in producing each of our backdrops,” Ms Ling
said.

“We have also welcomed and have subsequently created a number of custom backdrops based upon specific themes requested from our clients. What we are all about is servicing the client by giving plenty of options, a great selection, and most importantly a fantastic product.”

Backdrops Fantastic has more than 500 themed backdrops available for hire covering such themes such as Gala Awards, Las Vegas, Disco, Medieval, Masquerade and 50’s. Every backdrop is based upon hand painted original artwork and designed by a talented team of 14 scenic artists. Each drop is treated with industry standard fire retardants.
The company is based on the Gold Coast and ship to events all across Australia.

Top Trends for 2007 from Prop Shop

Some key classic themes are in place for the dressing of gala events, awards nights and corporate hospitality, according to Jano Dawes of The Prop House in Brisbane.

Romance is in the air with the Midsummer Night’s Dream. Soft luxurious fabrics in pastel shades, hints of glitter, gilded gold frames and furniture, touches of moss and delicate ivy vines combine to create a theme that really provides a sense of sophistication and occasion.

“The impact of repetition of contrasting colour saturation is also back in vogue,” Ms Dawes said.

“It ensures drama and energy at any event. By introducing a splash of colour, such as red, the impact created is shattering, with essential key elements including lycra cones, chandeliers and chair covers, candelabra encrusted with jewels, glass hurricane shades, dramatic table linen, overlays and napkins.”

The Prop House was established in 1995 and has evolved to create a one stop shop for the event and visual display industry. The company specialises in:
