Where The Sun Always Shines

Beloved by the Hollywood actors and sports stars, the north coast of New South Wales shines with a subtropical ambience and the ability to satify every client.

One of the best-known resorts on the Coffs Coast, the four star Opal Cove Resort, is now under independent management, with a fresh look given to its conference centre including a new executive boardroom and business centre.

Of the seven meeting and function rooms, the largest can hold up to 550 people theatre style or 300 for banquets. The Ocean View Foyer, overlooking Korora Bay, is the ideal place for morning and afternoon tea breaks with a difference. The Resort also has Opals - an exclusive-use entertainment venue with ocean views - well suited for cocktail parties and dinners.

Accommodation comprises 135 guestrooms and 38 two and three bedroom self-contained villas. The 36-hectare beachfront property includes a nine hole, par 3 golf course, heated swimming pool, freshwater lagoon and tennis courts.

Follow The Rugby Trail

The All Seasons Premier Pacific Bay Resort has undergone a $4 million refurbishment and been rebranded as the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort Coffs Harbour. All 180 guestrooms and spa suites have had a complete makeover, as had its public areas including the lobby, restaurant and bar.

In collaboration with the Pacific Conference Centre and the Bayside Spa Centre, the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort Coffs Harbour boasts one of the largest conference and leisure facilities in the region. The Pacific Conference Centre has eight meeting rooms and groups can also utilise the Bay Marquee for gala dinners, trade shows and exhibitions. The setting, taking in Charlesworth Bay, is truly magnificent.

The extensive sporting facilities influenced its selection as the venue for the Australian Wallabies’ training sessions in the lead-up to the 2003 Rugby World Cup. There’s a full-sized football field, fully-equipped gymnasium, spa, sauna, 25 metre lap pool, four floodlit tennis course, a nine hole par 3 golf course, beach volleyball court, walking and jogging trails, and on-site fitness leaders and massage therapists.

Activities On And Off-Site

The recently opened Sebel Aqualuna Beach Resort Coffs Harbour at Sapphire comprises one, two or three bedroom fully self-contained apartments. While the apartments have well-appointed kitchens, allowing guests to whip up some fresh local seafood delicacies, there’s also the Resort’s Al Fresco Restaurant & Bar for those who prefer their dining options a little more indulgent.

With private access to the beautiful Sapphire Beach, the Sebel also has a heated swimming pool, tennis court and full beach activities program. The Resort caters to small conferences and meetings. The largest room, which can be divided into three separate areas, can accommodate up to 120 people theatre style or 90 for banquets.

The Coffs region is well-placed to handle conferences and events of all kinds. Recently, all stops were pulled out for an Australian car club. The main street of the seaside village of Sawtell was closed off to accommodate 1000 car fans, 300 hot rods and a night carnival.

And if such an event might seem a little high-octane, there’s plenty of other ideas available. Coffs Coast Conferences can tailor the perfect event.
