It doesn't really matter whether the sun is shining or the snow is packed tightly against the walls,
the Snowy Mountains has its own special magic all year round.

The Novotel Lake Crackenback is ideally placed for conferences wishing to take advantage of the region's best ski fields. A five-minute bus transfer takes delegates to the SkiTube, which services Thredbo, Perisher Blue and Mount Blue Cow.

Novotel Lake Crackenback is located on 60 hectares with a range of self-contained one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, each equipped with a laundry and drying room, kitchen, dining room and lounge room with cosy fireplaces. There are two conference rooms, the largest being The Veranda for up to 80 people theatre-style or 60 for banquets. The 60-square-metre Playroom is perfect for exhibitions.

The expansive grounds are ideal for teambuilding activities, mini-Olympics or fly fishing competitions in the trout-filled lake.

Downhill Runs

Thredbo recently hosted the Planning Institute of Australia conference, with 120 delegates meeting in a clean, green environment away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The Tate, Townsend and Kosciusko Rooms as well as the Lounge Bar, all located within the Thredbo Alpine Hotel, served the delegates well with all the latest audio-visual equipment adding a professional touch to the proceedings.

Thredbo is a destination with a difference, with endless outdoor opportunities, magical mountain views it's a village brimming with charisma and sprinkled with charm and is the perfect place to hold a conference.

The unique setting for the conference allowed the delegates to experience all that Thredbo had to offer. Following the morning business sessions, delegates had such options as mountain biking, white water rafting, horse-riding, fly-fishing, bushwalking or rides on the chairlift.

Activities For Mountain Men

For the conference's gala dinner, the Kosciusko Room was decorated in a "Man From Snowy River" theme for an authentic Mountain Muster. Delegates stayed at the 4-star Thredbo Alpine Hotel, which houses the conference facilities and is located in the heart of Thredbo Village, close to shops, cafes and restaurants.
