A scenic treatThe southern coastline of New South

Follow this link to conference venues in the >> South Coast, NSW. The Royal National Park, immediately south of Sydney, marks the beginning of the Illawarra and a great perspective on the region can be had from the lookout atop Stanwell Park. A road closely hugging the coastline dips down through the villages of Coalcliff, Coledale and Austinmer on the way to Wollongong. Just 90 minutes by car from Sydney, Wollongong and the Illawarra are easily accessible. The city's heavy industrial past has partially obscured Wollongong's recent social renaissance and meetings delegates will now find outstanding restaurants (from fine-dining down to relaxed and extremely casual), breathtaking natural beauty and a rich cultural legacy. Continuing south is the Shoalhaven district with Nowra at its commercial centre on the southern shore of the Shoalhaven River and Bomaderry on the northern shore. Dairy is a major industry and the Shoalhaven is justly renowned for its cheeses, while the fledgling wine industry is also attracting acclaim. Foodies from throughout Australia's east coast flock to this area to try the very best in local produce. The small towns and villages of the lower South Coast including Moruya, Narooma, Narooma and Merimbula provide some fresh scenic delights. Working slowly down the coast, stopping and sampling the delights along the way make an excellent post-conference excursion.
