With wine and gourmet indulgences or alpine thrills, regional Victoria has something for everybody.

Although compact in size, Victoria can be a very diverse state. Once outside Melbourne, there’s much to see and experience to the East and North-East of the city. To the East is the Dandenong Ranges with its bracing mountain air, quiet villages and beautifully appointed gardens.

To the North-East are such towns as Mansfield and Wangaratta and, as the altitude increases, the renowned ski fields of Mount Buller, Mount Hotham and Falls Creek. Summer and winter the alpine regions draw leisure and corporate visitors. Conferences by roaring log fires are as popular as outdoor teambuilding activities in the mild summer sunshine.

The wine districts of the region are numerous and much frequented. In the very midst of what has become known as the Milawa Gourmet Region is Lindenwarrah at Milawa. Lindenwarrah is part of the Lancemore Group, which also includes the highly respected Lancemore Hill and Lindenberry at Red Hill.

Lindenwarrah has 40 guestrooms and 2 suites. Located opposite the world-famous Brown Brothers winery, Lindenwarrah is a distinctive country house hotel and restaurant. The outdoor areas, perfect for warm weather events, include a courtyard, landscaped gardens, ornamental pools and a spa centre.

Opened in 2001, it is just 2½ hours from the centre of Melbourne, 55 minutes from Albury-Wodonga and 15 minutes from Wangaratta. There are 2 meetings and 2 syndicate or break-out rooms. The largest meeting room can seat up to 100 people theatre style or 70 for banquets.

Located closer to Melbourne, at the gateway to the wine region, The Sebel Lodge Yarra Valley has become very popular with the corporate community. Much of this has to do with the Sebel’s 18 hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. Currently under construction is a second 18 hole course, giving Sebel guests the choice of 2 fine courses. Both are serviced by the spectacular Heritage Country Club, a great place to relax after a game.
