“river trade”

In the midst of a working maritime port is a great
venue for meetings and special events.

Visitors to the Port of Brisbane are often surprised with what they find when they venture out to the mouth of the Brisbane River.

Towering container cranes, mountains of coal and woodchip, and the weatherworn hulls of giant ships are all there. What surprises them is that nestled in a quiet, wetland location overlooking a lake abundant with bird life is a modern, versatile conference and function centre.

Established over two years ago to service visitors to the port and the local port community, the Port of Brisbane Visitors’ Centre offers a variety of function and catering options for those looking for a truly unique Brisbane venue location. A 100 seat theatrette, sizeable conference room, soundproof board room, restaurant and cafe facilities are all available indoors, whilst the possibilities for the expansive grassed area outdoors, perfect for a marquee for up to 500 people, are limited only by the imagination. The cosy A la carte restaurant On the Lake has recently been expanded to incorporate verandah dining over the lake, whilst the Eco Café offers diners a contemporary lunch menu, or a tempting coffee and cake.

With the convenience of on-site parking, and located only 25 minutes from the city centre, the Port of Brisbane Visitors’ Centre is truly surprising.
