MOUNT MACEDON RANGES

Hubble bubble is the buzz in the Mount Macedon region where natural mineral springs are harnessed into pampering spas and the conditions are perfect for producing excellent food and sparkling wine.

While there’s gold in many a Victorian hill, it is the rich mineral soil of the Mount Macedon Ranges that has attracted people to the area over the centuries. With more than 70 springs, the area is a centre for spa retreats and a wide range of luxuriously pampering and wellbeing experiences.

Together with natural springs, the rich mineral soils have also created excellent growing conditions for local produce and wine and for gardens that many Australians would kill for. The soil, the height of the region at 500m and the temperate climate are just perfect for vines and there are more than 40 wineries producing Riesling, Chardonnay and Shiraz. Pinot Noir is also grown in abundance, used to create sparkling wine which producers label Macedon, in recognition to the source of the grapes.
